RO - Silencios
Hay lugares donde la naturaleza no lo pone fácil para dejarse habitar. Donde alguno de los emplazamientos históricos más importantes no queda nada. Donde se encuentran granjas que pertenecen desde hace siglos a la misma familia, por su insistencia en reconstruirlas en el mismo lugar tras sucesivos desastres naturales.
Esos espacios me llevan a un silencio lleno de sonidos, que me ayuda a centrarme en lo que me rodea. Un silencio como el expresado por el músico estadounidense John Cage en su obra 4’33”.
Según Cage el silencio es un sonido continuo; atender al silencio es escuchar lo que usualmente se escapa, lo que pasa desapercibido.
En esa escucha silenciosa observo la fragilidad de este entorno y la del ser humano insistiendo en habitar esos parajes bellos e implacables. Siempre consciente de que, en cualquier momento, las entrañas de la naturaleza pueden despertar para cambiarlo todo y borrar hasta la última huella.
RO - Silences
There are places where nature does not make things easy to let itself be inhabited. Places where some of the most relevant historical sites are gone forever. Where farms that are own by the same family for centuries still survive, due to the human insistence on reconstructing them in the same place, time and time again, after successive natural disasters.
Those places take me to a silent space, plenty of sounds, which help me focus on my surroundings. It is a silence like the one expressed by the American musician John Cage in his most famous composition 4’33”. According to Cage, silence is a continuous sound; listening to silence means listening to what normally goes unnoticed.
During this silent listening I observe the fragility of my surroundings and that of the human being, who insists on inhabit those beautiful and relentless landscapes. Although being conscious of nature’s inner depths can be awaken to change everything and wipe all tracks.
